Note:According to the ancient Rangpur history book,Mannalal Roy came to Mahiganj in Rangpur for diamond,jewelery and gold trade.At first he used to trade in various types of famous expensive diamonds
manik jaharat khachit taaz or hats.A bazaar used to be built here for the purpose of selling the Taj which later gained great popularity and this zamindarbari was named Tajhat Zamindar Bari after this Tajhat.
Tajhat Zamindar's house is located in a picturesque environment surrounded by green plants, near the present Agricultural Institute, about 4 miles east-south from Rangpur Museum. In front of the zamindar house there are 4 ponds of huge shape excavated in contemporary times. From the present Tajhat Bazar, passing the main gate on the north side, one can gradually walk a few hundred yards to the west to reach the main entrance of the zamindar house. The real founder of this clan was
